New Delhi: Amid growing infection of Coronavirus, the Central Government has announced to give the vaccine to people above 18 years of age from May 1 to speed up the vaccination campaign. Meanwhile, many states have announced to give the free vaccine to all, but no information has been given about the price from the centre.

How much can a vaccine cost?

According to the Times of India report, most companies expect that when the vaccine is allowed to be sold in the private market, its price will be between 700 and 1000 rupees. However, the government has fixed the price of 250 rupees per dose.

The price of covishield can be 1000 rupees

The CEO of Serum Institute, Adar Poonawalla had earlier told that the price of Covishield in the private market will be around 1000 rupees per dose. The price of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V is expected to be less than Rs 750, which is produced in India by the pharmaceutical sector company Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.

2.95 lakh new cases and more than 2 thousand deaths

According to the Union Health Ministry, 2 lakh 95 thousand 41 people have been infected with Coronavirus in India in the last 24 hours, while 2023 people lost their lives during this period. After this, the total number of corona infected in India has increased to 1 crore 56 lakh 16 thousand 130 and 1 lakh 82 thousand 553 people have lost their lives. The number of active patients of Covid-19 in the country reached 21 lakh 57 lakh 538.
