New Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that people need not panic from Corona epidemic. The rate of recovery from Covid-19 in the country is around 75 per cent and it is improving daily. The death rate here is also the lowest in the world at 1.87 per cent. Dr Harsh Vardhan was inaugurating the 10-bed NDRF temporary hospital in Ghaziabad on Saturday. He said that India started a strategy to deal with the Corona epidemic (COVID-19 Pandemic) from 8 January itself. At that time, the world had only received information about this disease.

He taunted that ‘many intelligent people, scientists and people with negative thinking had an estimate that by July-August in India, with a population of 135 crores, 300 million people will be infected with the coronavirus and 50 to 6 million people will die. But I am happy that after eight months of fighting, the recovery rate in India is the best 75 per cent and contrary to the estimate of 30 million people infected, the number of infected has not reached 30 lakhs. He said that ‘the fact is that 2.2 million patients have recovered and gone home and the remaining seven lakh patients will also be cured soon.’

On the other hand, India set a new record on Friday in the war against Corona. India examined corona samples of more than 10 lakh people in one day. Dr Harsh Vardhan said that a total of 10 lakh 23 thousand 836 samples were tested on Friday. This is a record in itself. In this way, more than 3.4 crore samples have been tested in the country so far.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India is investigating about 74.7 people per one lakh population. Which is more than the WHO guidelines to check 14 people per one lakh population.

The Union Health Ministry said that this achievement has been possible due to the growing network of testing laboratories. There are about 1511 Corona test labs working in the country right now. Of which 983 are in the government sector and 528 are in the private sector.
