Coronavirus: Oxygen Express brings 70 tonnes of oxygen to Delhi, a great relief for patients

New Delhi: The first Oxygen Express train for Delhi with around 70 tonnes of Oxygen Express reached the national capital on Tuesday morning. The officials gave information about this. He told that this oxygen will now be transported to various hospitals of Delhi Govt.

Railway minister’s tweet

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted, ‘Oxygen express has reached Delhi from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh with oxygen for patients in the national capital. Indian Railways will leave no stone unturned in our war against Covid-19 and will ensure adequate availability of life-giving resources across the country.’

Railway’s plan to deliver oxygen

Earlier, the Railways had said that it has prepared a plan to transport oxygen from Angul, Kalinganagar, Rourkela and Raigarh to Delhi and NCR region. However, there is no information about the arrival of another such train in the national capital.

Officials said that the Delhi government will have to arrange tankers by road to transport oxygen to hospitals.

According to the Health Department’s Health Bulletin, Delhi had the highest number of infections in one day on Monday and 380 people died while the infection rate was above 35 per cent.
