New Delhi: 4,039 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the national capital on Wednesday. This is the highest number of cases reported in a single day. With this, the total number of infected people in the national capital increased to more than two lakhs, while the number of the dead also increased to 4,638. Officials gave this information.
This is the first time since the epidemic has stated that the city has recorded more than 4,000 cases a day. Earlier, on June 23, the maximum number of 3,947 cases were reported. According to a bulletin issued by the Health Department of Delhi, 20 patients died in the last 24 hours. It said that the number of patients undergoing treatment rose from 22,377 to 23,733. The bulletin released on Wednesday said that the death toll from Coronavirus infection has increased to 4,638 and the total number of cases has increased to 2,01,174.
Lockdown possibilities denied in Delhi Despite the sharp increase in the cases of Covid-19 during the last fortnight in the capital, the Delhi government has once again ruled out the possibility of implementing lockdown. State Health Minister Satyendra Jain said that the economy cannot be “completely shut down” as the livelihood of millions depends on it. The Minister said that the people of the city should not “panic but take extreme precaution” and show greater vigilance and responsibility in public places to deal with this health crisis.
