Gautam Budh Nagar: The fear of the Coronavirus spread has also made human relations meaningless. Family members waited for 3 hours outside a cemetery in Sector 38 A of Noida to bury the deceased member of the house. When a health worker from a private hospital put the body down wearing a PPE kit, he was able to go and soil it.
The family waited for 3 hours to bid farewell
An elderly woman resident of Sector-63, Chhajarasi died in a private hospital in Greater Noida on Thursday. Ambulance personnel reached the graveyard in Sector-38A with the dead body at around 4.30 pm on Thursday evening, but there was no health worker with them. When the ambulance employee asked the family members to remove the dead body, they refused to take the deceased as corona positive. The body was kept in an ambulance for about 3 hours and the struggle continued in front of the cemetery to remove it. The family called the private hospital and asked to send the personnel to take the body off. When the hospital staff arrived wearing a PPE kit, the body was removed.
According to CMO Deepak Ohri, the first family said that they would perform the last rites of their family member. When they refused to do so in the cemetery, health workers were sent.
What does the rule say?
According to the rules, a health worker is present on such occasions. During the COVID period, it is difficult for the family to attend the funeral and burial of the dead. A health worker is presently wearing a PPE kit during the funeral. When the corona of the deceased is suspected, he takes care not to come in contact with the dead body.
