New Delhi: The government has clarified the situation on the vaccine before the Corona Vaccination starting on January 16 in the country. The government indicated on Tuesday that people would not have the option to choose between Covishield and Covaxin.
‘No choice of vaccine anywhere in the world’
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said in a press conference, ‘More than one vaccine of Corona Vaccine is being used in many places in the world. But currently, in any country, vaccine users are not being given the chance to choose the option of their choice. Therefore, we request people to follow proper behaviour of Covid-19.’
‘Corona vaccine has been delivered to storage center’
Bhushan said that 54.72 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been delivered to the scheduled national and state-level storage centres by Tuesday afternoon. In this way, the vaccination campaign will start on Saturday. He said that by January 14, 1.1 crores from Serum Institute of India and 55 lakh doses from Bharat Biotech will be provided.
‘Both doses will be held at a gap of 28 days’
Bhushan said that a second dose of the vaccine (Corona Vaccine) will be given at an interval of 28 days and its effect will be seen after 14 days. In the first phase, about three crore health workers and Corona warriors will be vaccinated on a priority basis. India had recently approved the use of ‘Covishield’ of Oxford University and Bharat Biotech’s ‘Covaxin’ vaccine in an emergency.
‘Both vaccines have no side effects’
NITI Aayog member Dr V.K. Paul said that these two vaccines have been tested on thousands of people. Both vaccines have been found safe in the trial and there is no danger from them. He said that the side effects of these vaccines are negligible.
