New Delhi: 50 ICU beds, including ventilators, will be reserved for children in the Covid Hospitals being built by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) at Haldwani and Rishikesh. Uttarakhand Health Secretary Amit Negi told the media that 25-25 beds will be reserved for children in each of these two hospitals. It is believed that preparations have already been made to deal with the third wave here. In the third wave, it is estimated that it will be more fatal for children.
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is in the process of constructing hospitals for the Covid patients at the IDPL Campus in Rishikesh and Haldwani. Operation of both the hospitals will start by next month.
Mobile Testing Laboratory in Rural Areas
According to Negi, the state government is now trying to provide proper health care to the patients in the village along with the city. Under the new arrangement by the state government, one Covid-19 patient care centre and one control room will be built in each block. He informed that along with this, there will be an effort to have a mobile testing laboratory in rural areas. It will go from village to village and examine the samples of the people.
1,98,530 patients have recovered so far
4496 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Uttarakhand on Sunday. At the same time, 188 infected people died in 24 hours. In the bulletin issued by the Health Department here, the total number of people infected with the Coronavirus in the state so far has been 2,87,286. According to the bulletin, a maximum number of 1248 new cases have been found in the Dehradun district. So far, a total of 4811 coronavirus infections have died in the state. The number of cases under treatment here is 78,802. At the same time, 1,98,530 patients have become healthy so far.
